The Ríos Andinos bring together a multidisciplinary team of national and international experts with experience in different areas related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to support our vision and approach at the national and subnational levels.
By 2030, Ríos Andinos and its partner organizations will mobilize technical and financial resources to promote gender-sensitive, climate-smart, sustainable forest conservation through rewilding and nature-based tourism business models. We intervene in areas where there is a strong interaction between people and nature. We collaborate with central and local governments, cooperative agencies, research institutions, businesses, NGOs, farmers, local women’s groups, and schools. We employ practical conservation science, rewilding, and economic analysis to restore high-conservation-value forests (HCVF) and implement climate-smart agriculture and livestock practices to promote nature-based tourism. Enhancing women’s income equity and skills is central to our approach.
