Our Horses.

Guapo is a white, Colombian Paso horse. He is very energetic and fast. He has a smooth canter and gallop, and is very reliable. He loves American treats and is really good at undoing knots and sometimes naughty.  

Rayuela is a purebred Spanish mare (Pura Raza Española -PRE). She is 8 years old and a very gentle horse. Rayuela was born in Hacienda, Zuleta and has a very smooth canter and nice gallop. She took sometime adjusting to the subtropical climate and was the first arrival from Zuleta. Today, she enjoys the company of her sister, Rondeña, who she shares grasslands with.

With a heavy heart, we inform that our beloved Opalo passed away in September 2022. He died of complications related to colic and internal bleeding. Although we provided the best care available, we could not save him. Opalo was the youngest horse on the Ranch. He was a purebred Spanish horse (Pura Raza Española -PRE). He was four years old at the time of his sudden death. He was born in Hacienda Zuleta. He was the youngest horse at the Ranch, the most playful, curious, and loved running. Throughout 2022, a professional horseback rider trained Opalo. He was in the midst of developing his elegant Spaniard "Paso," a soft trot and smooth gallop. We will miss him.

Born in Hacienda Zuleta, Rondeña is a purebred Spanish mare (Pura Raza Española -PRE). She is 7 years old and just like her half-sister, Rayuela, she is a very kind and gentle horse. She has a very smooth canter and nice galop. Today, she enjoys the company of her sister, Rayuela, who she shares grasslands with.

Kasper is a Criollo Pinto horse and is named after Danish goalkeeper and hero, Kasper Schmeichel. He has a beautiful, multi-colored mane and was born in Manabí. He is an alpha horse and very territorial. He is one of the fastest horses at the ranch and has very smooth, steady gallop. He is excellent for riding through fields with tall grass and is a true conquistador.

Jefe is a friendly, tall horse who is calm, steady, and reliable. He will take you anywhere you want to go. He is 9 years old and his name means 'boss'. He was also rescued from the horse market in Santo Domingo. He was in bad shape and after some loving and tender care, he has made a full recovery and is enjoying a fruitful life at Rancho Tangaré.
