Marlon is the Ranch Manager, and together with his family, he owns Rancho Tangaré. With support from his family and friends, he reestablished the Ranch and converted it to a private nature reserve in 2017. He is an experienced project manager and business planner; and leads the Ranch's inter institutional relations, operations and restoration work. Marlon is passionate about horses and a proficient horseback rider. He also enjoys white water rafting in the nearby Blanco and Mulaute rivers, nature conservation, classic rock music and worldwide travel; otherwise, he is a splendid fellow.
Martin is the reserves Senior Ornithologist. He is responsible for the bird ringing station and avian surveys in the reserve. His work focuses on the study and assessment of the changes in avian biodiversity in terms of population and diversity of species as the reforestation work continues.
He works as a Senior Ornithologist and is a qualified British Trust of Ornithology (BTO) Ringer in the United Kingdom. Specialising in ornithological projects, conducting breeding, vantage point, wetland and wintering bird surveys. As well as species specific bird surveys such as Barn Owl, Nightingale, Black Redstart and Peregrine Falcon. Having started his career within ecological consultancies in 2016, working for various sized companies in the UK. Martin has experience on an array of projects, including green energy sites and Sites of Special Scientific Interest for Natural England.
Martin is a Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), and holds a BSc in Ecology from the University of Brighton.
As a keen ornithologist, his passions for birds has led to him becoming a trained BTO ringer who regularly conducts ringing of passerines, birds of prey, waders and waterfowl in the UK. He also volunteers with the Sussex Barn Owl Group, dedicating time to the monitoring and conservation of Barn Owls in Sussex. In addition he has also worked with several wildlife groups across the globe, in the UK, South Africa and South America following his passions of conservation.
Isabel is the most proficient rider of the Flores-Majgaard family. She is responsible for maintaining the Ranch's high-standards for horse back riding, riding gear and safety equipment; and, oversees the management of the riding facilities and horseback riding trails.
Marco is the on-site Foreman of Rancho Tangaré. Being a native of the area, Marco has an in depth knowledge of the ranch and it's surroundings. He started working in July 2017. He is a team player responsible for the daily activities required to maintaining the ranch infrastructure and the horses. He also supervises short-term contractors, manages local purchases and inventory, and is excellent at guiding horseback riding trips within the ranch. Marco is excellent at multitasking and hard worker.
He has lived his entire life in ranch area and loves to the care for the ranch's horses. He spends most of his spare time with his family. He is a well respected member of the local community and maintains good relations with neighboring property owners.
Born in the town of Pitalito, Department of Huila, Colombia, Hector is a certified farrier (blacksmith). He started working with horses in his childhood and developed a passion for caring for horses. Later on, he decided to become a farrier and learned from experienced farriers in Colombia, as well as international master farriers such as Grant D Moon FWCF https://farriery.com/2013/05/10/grant-moon/

In addition, Héctor has completed various horseshoeing training workshops sponsored by Encoclavo in Colombia. He is our specialist in equine hoof care, including the trimming and balancing of horses' hooves and the placing of horseshoes on the hooves. He moved from Cali, Colombia to Ecuador in 2014, and now resides in Santo Domingo de Los Sachilas. Hector combines blacksmith skills and some veterinarian skills to care for our horses' feet; and is a proud owner of a highly functional mobile farrier workshop.
